I am more disappointed about PS4 because SSDs were available around the PS4 life cycle but Sony did not built PS4 hardware to take the benefit of SSD. That's why SSDs do not give their true benefit on PS3 and PS4. And Sata 2 has double the speed of Sata 1. SATA 3 has double the data speed of Sata 2.

PS4 1000/1100/1200 and PS4 Slim have SATA 2 ports while SATA 3 ports were widely in PC use at the time. PS3 had SATA 1 ports while Sata 2 ports were available in PCs during that time. The SATA ports used by Sony on console motherboards are obsolete in their time. I am actually disappointed with Sony on PS3 and PS4 hardware. Windows 7 and above OS have TRIM feature and all new SSDs have TRIM on their firmware level. In my knowledge, both SSD and OS need to have TRIM feature. Given all these surrounding factors I'd love to hear from folks more familiar with the subject matter than I am. I've gone ahead and included a link to owcs website and what I suspect would be the most suitable hypothetical drive.

So my question is then do you fine folks think this could be a viable way to have an ssd that won't be hampered by the lack of OS level trim support? Obviously this solution is more expensive than either any of the other standard ssd,hdd or sshd options. Enter OWC who seem to have trim support(or some rough equivalent) built into their ssds. One that specifically targeted aftermarket ssds tailored to macs before trim was widely available on anything but officially licensed drives. Is it not possible to introduce trim(or rough equivalent) onto the ssd itself? So I took some time to research which led me to a player in the ssd market.
